Hi, I’m Ashley Peterson, an experienced Eclectic Licensed Professional Counselor and certified ADHD Clinical Service Provider. My passion lies in helping people identify their values and belief systems, and how these shape the way they interpret the world around them. I believe that understanding these inner workings is the key to making real, person-centered progress in therapy. I’m especially passionate about providing psychoeducation, empowering clients with their diagnoses, challenging negative self-perceptions, and modeling self-compassion throughout the healing journey.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hampton University and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of the District of Columbia, I’ve had the opportunity to dive deeply into my craft. Every day, I take pride in delivering the best therapeutic interventions and care I possibly can, ensuring my clients feel supported and seen.
In addition to my work as a psychotherapist, I also offer clinical supervision, case consultations for fellow therapists, and mental health wellness coaching. Over the years, I’ve developed my own theoretical framework—Millennial Eclectic Therapy. This approach builds on the foundational principles of eclecticism while intentionally focusing on how the millennial experience influences our beliefs, worldview, treatment options, and outcomes. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see this approach resonate with so many of my clients.
I’m excited to continue this journey and to support my clients in their growth, one step at a time.
